There has been a lot of press lately focused on women finally “finding their voices.” Women are not just lately finding their voices. In fact, their voices were never lost. Women have been speaking out for years about sexual harassment and many other abuses, but very few were listening. Unsettled is a show that explores and celebrates women’s voices; the louder the better. Female artists will be responding to issues that are still unsettled. They will be speaking out through their art and addressing sociopolitical issues and historical abuses and injustices.
Current Exhibit: The Way Back
Feb 1st - 23rd 1 Larkin Center Yonkers, NY 10701
The Way Back celebrates five artists exploring black heritage through socio-political, cultural and historical themes. In honor of Black History Month, Kai Hassell will be performing in the gallery for the opening reception. Kai is a native to Yonkers and is a songwriter and musician.
